This is a mother, wife, business owner. She makes all her meals, pre packs everything. Takes her food with her to all the kids games, events, personal parties, etc.
Kelly still finds time to come to the gym 5-6 days per week. She never misses and she always has her food. No wonder she keeps losing!
Her personal story is remarkable…….read on if you have a minute!
My earliest memory of my weight issue was when I was in the 5th grade, my grandmother was talking to my mom about myself and my sisters were getting overweight. It’s how she was telling my mom is why I remember this….not in a caring way….It’s amazing how words can hurt so deep and stick with you for so long….at that time I didn’t think I was overweight….I really wasn’t, I could have been 5-10 pounds overweight. From then on I’ve had issues with my weight. I remember in high school I would starve myself to get into a pair of jeans. I’ve always been an athlete but my diet/eating habbits weren’t always the best.
I married my husband at age 18 a size 16-18. I had 2 sons by the time I was 20. When my 2nd son was 1 yr old I was a size 20-22 and over 250 pounds. On his first birthday I decided to loose weight. I quit eating red meat and pork, went to a weight loss clinic where they put me on meds. I initially lost weight at first, about 2 months into my weight journey I started using laxatives. I also tried to throw up(that wasn’t for me) I was much more successful using the laxative. At one point I was up to 24-36 a day and only eating a bag of popcorn a day—that’s it!! Yeah I was losing weight between the weight loss clinic meds and the laxatives and only eating a bag of popcorn a day, oh yeah living off of coffee all day too, but I was not happy and starving!!! and the cramps from the laxatives were awful!!!
I stopped using everything when I was 24 and was pregnant with my 3rd son. After he was born I went to another weight loss clinic to lose my baby weight. I did lose some weight. When I was 26 we moved to Las Vegas. I would try the starving myself and laxatives every now and then. I tried some of the already food programs, I did lose some weight with that and a little bit of working out. When I was 36 I tried ANOTHER weight loss program…by this time I was back up to over 230 pounds. Over a year and half I lost 60 pounds, I had joined LVAC. So I thought I was doing good! I stopped going to the weight loss clinic but still was going to the gym 5 days a week. I gained over 30 pounds!!! So I started to take a few classes at LVAC….and this is where you–Angela comes in…..I took your pilates on the ball class. WOW!! I loved it!!
So I went back the following week, you had mentioned to your class that we could follow you on facebook, so I was interested and went on facebook and saw all the great stuff you were doing!!! Ofcourse I wanted that!! Here I am 21 pounds lost so far and SO much HAPPIER with myself…..AND I’m doing it with out any meds!!!!! I’m learning how to feed my body in a healthy way!!! And the results I’m getting from my hard work are OUTSTANDING!!!! One thing that sticks in my mind you had said that first day in your class(although you said it everytime) You have to put in work in to get the results you want!! This is what keeps my on track!!! I want to be a GREAT roll model for my 4 kids……If I ‘m gonna talk the talk, I’ve got to walk the walk!!! And there is NO quick fix……it’s a lifestyle and it’s worth the time and effort put in!!!
